WELCOME,

As we embark upon a new school year I would like to welcome you to Calhoun Academy.

We here at Calhoun Academy pride ourselves in teaching our children to be successful and strive for the goals that they need to be our future leaders. In order to accomplish this goal, they must have:

(1) DESIRE: Each individual must have a desire to WORK. There should be no excuses, because lazy people never succeed in life. Hard work pays off. Each individual must have a desire to LEARN. With learning comes knowledge and wisdom. Each individual should have a desire to SUCCEED. Without this, we will be a failure. When we fail to prepare, we prepare to fail. There may be failures along the way, but with a desire to be successful-- You Will Succeed.

(2) DEDICATION: Each individual should make wise use of TIME. We should put everything we have into dedicating our SELF to be successful. Then, we should have a dedication of PURPOSE. Be the very best.

(3) DETERMINATION: With determination, we must have confidence in self, confidence in others, but most of all, we must have confidence in faith in God.

This world will be what we make it. We can be what we want to be, but we must remember that we are greater than what we think we are. With determination, we can go forward and be successful. In doing this, we learn to be responsible, we learn the importance of sportsmanship and humility, and we identify the true character that we truly want others to see in us.

Dare to be great, but make sure you strive to be truly great.
